Benefits of recreation for veterans - Clemson study
"...service members have much higher success in reintegrating into the community when they are actively involved in recreational programs and support groups meant for rehabilitation."
The benefits of nature contact as therapy are well documented, including contemplative, recreational, and hands-on habitat restoration activities. Though not yet on the radar screen of policy makers, veterans have initiated nature-based programs focused on hunting, fishing, and other outdoor recreation and restoration activities. Examples include Wounded Warriors in Action and Project Healing Waters. specklebelly goose
As a researcher and educator in resilience formation, and as a Veteran who would like to be a farmer as well, I would love to have you send me the research you here reference so I can include it in developing my proposals and grant requests! Thanks so much! Jlewis21@kent.edu
